SPY Flyer
Rough sketch of what I wanted to do with the flyer. It didn't really work out, though. |

Boy Paper Doll
I put out the call on Twitter. Anyone who wanted a paper doll made of themselves need only to send me a picture of them in their underwear. Only DoomLazer was brave enough to accept this gift. Now you can print out him and Paper Doll Jeannette and pretend play like they're sending tweets to each other. Fun!

Inspirational Greeting Card
This is a collaboration between motivational speaker Graham Clark and myself. Kind of a rough version. I can do more if I get any feedback at all.

Print and Play
Thought it was time for a new paper doll. Boy am I aging.
This time accessories include my pink dinosaur bone necklace, solar system necklace, my iPhone, an empty bottle of no-brand 7-Eleven wine, a string cheese, my black flats, my Japanese ninja-toe style room shoes and my angry bunny.

One small step for man...
I couldn't sleep and stayed up all night drawing this and the previous comic. I am obsessed with the idea. I must be really missing America right now. God bless this mess.

Three Hundred Posts
board game from a few years ago still works today (replace MySpace with Twitter) |
For my 300th post I looked over all my old Sketchblog entries. Some of them I have no recollection of whatsoever. Some of them I realized I'm still trying to draw to this day. I realized I have tons of Halloween related drawings. Most of them not done in October. 2007 was my bloggiest year but I'm making a comeback in 2012.
Crushes and boredom will always induce creativity.
If you're interested:
I miss my rocks.
I used to paint goblins.
I used to paint messy.
I used to paint BIG.
I used to use my imagination.
My friend Liz as a snail.
I tried to draw the ASL alphabet but quit at around 'J'.
I should be grateful.
I haven't changed much.
A sad story I forgot.
I've drawn a lot of face.
Me & my mom's relationship has been awkward for a while.
I stand by this epitaph.
Too hard on myself.
Me in my underwear.
Every single night.

Instagrams
Sometimes I take pictures of drawings I don't feel like scanning and fancy them up with an Instagram filter. I know some of you are morally opposed to this, but I think the world has bigger problems than faux photographer hipsters. Like people who "Like" those shitty e-cards on Facebook.
You can follow me on Instagram (it's an iPhone app, grandma) but I don't remember my username and my phone is all the way in front of me on my desk, so... just guess, it's probably Jeannetto or something.

Let's Lighten the Mood
Just Adrian Brody dressed as batman chillin' with a pug.
But I didn't think of it myself. It came to me in a vision:

Barf Burger
This is even too sentimental for me. I gave up in the last panel. It's gross. I'm sorry. Feel bad for me. That's what I was going for maybe.

My Main Maid
Tweeted in the morning and drawn throughout the day. I live a leisurely lifestyle (other than all the damn chores). And no, I dont really want a new boyfriend. But I am overwhelmed by all the chores I have to do by myself now.

patti cake
Whipped up a drawing of Twitter friend @let_it_bea tonight. She's cool, fun and talented. Check out her band Patti Cake's EP The Prime Minister of Cool Chicks. I've been listening to the track Nobody Loves Me every morning since I downloaded it a month ago... as a kind of self affirmation.

Coping Mechanisms
1. These are not going to get less depressing.
2. While drawing this realized how influenced I still am by Jim Beran, a comic artist I used to work for with my mom when I was a kid.
3. Comics dont have spell check. Leave it.

Gotta Keep 'em Separated
There's a bar in Hiroshima where anyone can pick the CD (like a physical version of an iTunes song) and the ex-pat 20-something crowd tend to go for 90's alt rock.

Late Night Fantasies
Drew this instead of sleeping, but I'm on vacation so it's OK.
I'm having trouble with finding a good pen I can erase over, and also keeping the lines black in Photoshop without distorting them. If anyone has any tips, let me know. I use Micron pens, usually. I should have probably used a stroke outline when filling in the darker colors, or hooked up my tablet and stop using the fill tool.

Tweet Tweet
I illustrated a tweet by the hilarious @grahamclark. It's the same guy from the beard painting painting and of Stop Podcasting Yourself fame. He's my favorite.

Stop Beard Painting Yourself
Life goal achieved: I got a shout out on the Vancouver-based comedy podcast, Stop Podcasting Yourself. I painted a picture of co-host Graham Clark painting a picture with his beard of himself painting a picture with his beard. By now you may realize he does beard paintings. You can see them at beardpaintings.com. They're cute and all the money he gets from selling them goes to charity.
Click here to listen to the episode. It is by far their best yet. Merry Breakfast, everyone!
